GUM SHOES

Greg Stonehouse

This performance / installation is enacted by painting over the chewing gum patterns within the pavement.  The elevation of the consumer’s detritus to a coded phenomenon is absurd and yet acknowledges these smudges as a street patina.

Greg Stonehouse is an artist based in Sydney Australia who, as part of a collaborative team with Susan Milne, has produced permanent and ephemeral artworks in public space.
